Dedicated to the memory of Mike

This site is a tribute to Mike. A dearly loved husband, Dad and Grandpa much loved and always to be remembered.

A message from the family :

As Dad's battle with Anti-Iglon5 was nearing its end , Dad was clear he wanted to leave a legacy in death that would help others. He asked to donate his brain to research given how rare his illness was. Dad was 1 of 5 people diagnosed here in the UK and only 1 of 47 in the whole of Europe. The disease was only found and recognised by medicine in 2014. Very little is currently known about the disease but what is understood is that early diagnosis is crucial, so that early interventions can be made to slow down devastating progress.  Sadly for Dad, early diagnosis did not happen. By donating his brain, Dad's last wish was to support research to ensure more could be learnt about the condition and treatment and support pathways effectively developed.

Dad was always so generous in life and we as a family could not be more proud of this final act of generosity made in death. We are asking for family flowers only, in the hope that we can encourage donations that will go directly to support the research that is so badly needed.

Dad was very clear that he wants his funeral and wake to be a celebration of his life and his hope was that he would be spoken about often and fondly remembered.
